New Moon in Libra
New Moon | Libra | Oct 21, 2025
This is a new moon that brings a marked new beginning — an evolution of the soul and an opportunity to heal and transform deeply seated relational wounds.
Libra is the sign that invites us to check in on the balance, harmony, and reciprocity within all of our relations. And this new moon shines a light on the healing we must do to transform our experiences around relating, and begin an entirely new chapter.
Let’s explore the chart:
There are so many reasons this moon brings a dramatic new beginning to our lives, our healing, and our relationships.
Firstly, the new moon itself forms a T square with Jupiter in Cancer square Chiron in Aries. Jupiter square Chiron is an ongoing transit that we are just beginning to work with, and will experience through until Januarary 2026. Jupiter amplifies, and Chiron represents karmic wounds and deep healing. In a challenge aspect, Jupiter will not allow us to push the wound beneath the surface or deny it’s existence any longer. Jupiter puts the spotlight on a healing process that requires our attention and tenderness.
The wound is relation to Chiron in Aries, and represents themes of individuation, personal will and power, discernment, and boundaries. The Libra new moon is in a close opposition to Chiron.
This new moon wants us to turn a new page that invites a deeper expression of harmony and reciprocity to all of our relations, as a result of taking the time and space to face the wound and the healing required. The new moon squared by Jupiter amplifies the intensity of the moon and makes the energy feel larger than life.
The moon is also the apex of a yod formation between the moon, Uranus, and Neptune and Saturn. A yod is a “Finger of God” or “Finger of Fate” that is a highly auspicious formation and points to the planet at the apex, signifying a karmic and transformational theme. The energy is directing our attention towards the new moon, and the turning point this new moon brings. The planets involved bring a sense that this shift is deeply significant to the spiritual path of the soul and may also bring change or transformation that is unexpected at the ego level.
There is no doubt that this new moon marks a massive turning point in our karmic and evolutionary journey, specifically in the realm of relationships.
Venus, the ruler of Libra and of this new moon, has been going through quite the process in the lead-up to this new moon. She has just come out of grand trine in the air element, with Uranus and Pluto, and an opposition to Neptune. These three outer planets all bring soul level change, each in their own ways. Pluto forces us into an underworld journey to examine power dynamics and reclaim our disowned power of transformation, as we emerge as the phoenix rising. Uranus brings plot twists and unexpected revelations that force us to consider things from a completely different perspective. Neptune brings a spiritual, mystical, dreamy, and yet illusive change that can be deeply confusing and also bring spiritual awakening and deeper surrender.
As Venus comes out of those transformative transits which took place last week, she is ready to call in a new chapter and a new beginning around the ways she experiences relationships and expresses love. The revelations and insights we experienced last week around all kinds of dynamics in relationship were leading to this transformative new moon that brings healing and lasting change.
The insights and experiences that are showing up in your life right now around giving and receiving, reciprocity, and healing your relations are significant. This new moon brings a very inward sacred pause, and an invitation to anchor the shifts into the body and lived experience. We are being asked to retreat and rebirth the conditions we wish to experience in our lives around how we relate to each other, to the divine, to the Earth, and the beings and spirits we share it with.
When we heal to bring harmonious balance and reciprocity to all of our relations, we are invited to contemplate the dynamic of giving and receiving, offering and taking. If we see ourselves as someone who is often taken advantage of or depleted by others, we need to examine the ways we consciously or unconsciously offer our time, energy and power to be taken. If we struggle to give, it may lead to a tendency to take what we believe we deserve, because we are rooted in scarcity. If we feel like we over-give, perhaps we need to learn how to receive what is already freely offered to us by life.
Harmonious balance is not about tit for tat equal exchange relating. It is about giving without expectation, and offering what we have abundance or overflow to share. It is noticing when we need to pour into ourselves, or receive what life is trying to give us. It is taking back what we have erroneously offered in an attempt to gain love, power, status or control. It is surrendering and offering up our gifts and our abundance, to flow through us and serve others. It is understanding that this flow of energy is in constant motion, and not clinging to it nor pushing it away, but trusting the right relationship with wherever we are in the cycle.
Know when you have something to offer, and offer it open hearted. Feel the natural desire to give, and do not restrict it. Open your heart to receive that which is already on it’s way to you. Take what you need and only what is freely offered. Give back.
When I think of reciprocity, it often makes me reflect on my relationship to Mother Earth. The root of all my relations. I ask myself how I can offer more to her, and how I can more fully open my heart to receive her gifts, her bounty. When we are blocked in any wounds around relating, our relationship to her, the great mother, can offer us guidance and perspective on where we need to heal.
Simultaneously to this new moon, we also have a grand trine in water coming into place in the chart. Soon, Neptune will retrograde back into Pisces for her final stint there in our lifetime. She will meet up with Saturn, helping us bring together the vision and discipline needed to birth long term dreams (more on the important Saturn / Neptune conjunction here).
Jupiter is moving into late degrees of Cancer, to trine these two in Pisces, while Mars and Mercury move into late Scorpio to complete the grand water trine. This is a helpful and supportive aspect that encourages the process we have been undergoing with Neptune and Saturn in Pisces — helping us access the destiny of the North Node in Pisces. Now all of these planets are in on the journey and are bringing creativity, expansion, vision, communication, and action to actualize those dreams.
Over the next few weeks, we will be able to use this energy to take important steps towards the fruition of big projects and bring our fantasies to life.
The North Node in Pisces has had us all on a journey of surrender over the course of this year, and it has not been an easy one. Pisces is trying to align us with a higher, divine plan. But there has likely been a big process of shedding to get us where we didn’t even know we were going. This year is also a 9 year, a year of the snake. We are letting go of everything the ego clings to, in order to make space for a divine destiny beyond our imagination.
Big love and happy new moon,
Hannah
