Full Moon in Aries
Full Moon | Aries | Oct 6, 2025
The full moon comes in late Monday night, and brings a fiery opportunity for clearing our barriers to self-value, in true Aries fashion. This full moon is about finally choosing yourself, and painfully releasing what has held you back from setting the boundaries needed to do so.
Full moons are about a breaking point, a release point in the mounting tension. And in Aries, the tension is about balancing honouring of self and other. This full moon asks us to release people-pleasing tendencies of Libra, the archetype of appeasing to group harmony. In Aries, this is a fantastic opportunity to deepen the boundaries, assertiveness, and the power of fighting for what we want, what we need, and what matters most to us.
Here is the chart for this upcoming full moon.
At the same time as the full moon, we have several other important transits to take note of.
Venus is travelling with the South Node, bringing the theme of relationships to the surface, and since Venus is the ruler of the Sun in Libra, this transit pulls focus to our full moon. When any planet travels with the South Node, there is a release, and in Virgo, a purification process in play. Venus is revisiting and releasing relational dynamics rooted in hyper-vigilance, perfectionism, and playing the adaptive roles we learned to create a controlled sense of safety. Venus also rules finance, values, and worth. Beliefs, control patterns, and outdated obsessive tendencies around all things what we love and what we value are also surfacing to be cleared.
Venus at the South Node is a purging of our low self worth, subconscious mental loops that keep us stuck in fighting to prove our value.
Mercury in Scorpio is square Pluto — and this is can be a particularly touchy transit. A challenge aspect from Pluto brings out the darker side of Mercury in Scorpio, which can be thoughts or words that cut to the core. Scorpio in it’s shadow expression knows how to sting where it hurts most, and is willing to be vindictive, calculated, and vengeful in the process. Watch out for underhanded dealing this week with these two planets in challenge. On a deeper level, Mercury in Scorpio can pull our mental focus to pain, betrayal and emotional wounds of the past. Pluto’s influence can bring transformation and transmutation of those wounds, especially if we take Venus’ journey with the South Node as an oppotunity to release old, karmic, and even past-life relationship wounds.
Jupiter is squared by Chiron simultaneously, amplifying even further the theme of healing and processing to let go of the past that accompanies this full moon. Jupiter in a square amplifies (in a challenging way) the planet it is squaring. In this case, Chiron, the wounded healer, is being amplified, expanded, and perhaps even blown out of proportion. This transit, especially with Jupiter in Cancer, brings all the feels to the surface.
In case you thought you could skip past the inner work that this full moon is begging for — Jupiter square Chiron ensures we will all be feeling it. The “work” in this case looks like taking a cold, hard, unflinching look at past pain, grief, resentment, and moving through the betrayal by feeling it all.
There is a pattern of closure, of holding it all together, of over-functioning, of hyper-vigilance in relationships that this full moon is closing the final chapter on. We have the opportunity now to release this pattern all the way through. We do this by having the courage to see it, look it in the eye, feel it through, and say — with no-nonsense Aries fire — NO MORE.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and represents a rebirth of sorts. This full moon is the culmination of a 6 month cycle that began with a new moon in Aries on March 29th of this year. Think back to what projects, dreams, and visions you were brewing on that first new moon of the astrological year. Consider now what needs to be released, reckoned with, and made peace with, in order to fulfill those visions and dreams. This full moon is the release point for whatever can’t come along for the dreams Aries is pulling you towards.
Looking at which house in your chart contains Aries will give you more information about the theme and the area of your life that is impacted by this full moon. This is an area of your life that WANTS to blossom, grow, and expand. And in order to do so, a pattern in the area of Libra is begging to be broken so you can finally move forward. The Libra’s ruler Venus at the South Node, the momentum and energy is here to let it go, for once and for all.
RITUAL RECOMMENDATION:
In order to work with this full moon, I would recommend practices that encourage catharsis and release. Breathwork would be an incredibly potent practice for this full moon. I encourage you to work with the material your subconscious is revealing to you (through dreams, trance work, meditation, or tools like somatic practices and breathwork). Let the information your subconscious reveals move through you through some form of movement or expression, whether that is dance, journaling, or another creative outlet.
This is a full moon to practice releasing the chains that bind you.
Work with this moon in rituals of release, purification, cleansing and clearing.
Specifically, I encourage you to focus on releasing that which is holding you back from your personal power, expansion, wishes and dreams. Aries is about reclamation of self interest, in a way that rebels against the conditioning of martyrdom that is so deeply entrenched in our modern world.
Big love, and happy full moon,
Hannah
