New Moon Eclipse in Virgo

If this eclipse season is rocking you — welcome to the club. I personally have found this eclipse portal to be one of the most intense I have ever experienced. This eclipse season is closing out with this Virgo new moon eclipse coming in on Sunday. Let’s explore what this chart is bringing to the surface, and how we can move forward post-eclipse.

Refer to my last report to get a full breakdown on eclipses in general, and what you need to know about working with them through your evolutionary journey.

Eclipses are here to change the trajectory of our lives. They come like a storm, asking us to release what is unnecessary and unaligned, and pushing us to face specific challenges for our growth and expansion, to help us connect to our destiny.

This year’s eclipses are all about the nodal journey from the South Node in Virgo to the North Node in Pisces. This means that for the last 2 weeks, you have been on a rollercoaster of change, pushing you to release your grasp on anything you are attached to, and surrender to a higher plan that you just can’t see.

Things might feel out of control lately, and that is exactly the purpose of the North Node in Pisces: to remind us that we never had as much control as we thought. That our overanalyzing gets us nowhere but spiralling in circles. That our self flagellation and our inner critic can ruin a perfectly good day when we give them the reigns. That no matter how we may craft the most idealistic plan, it only serves to make God laugh.

When we give up the neurotic tendencies of Virgo, we are at the mercy of Pisces. We stop swimming upstream, and notice that the river is taking us to the sea. We recall our infinite interconnection with all that is. We remember our intuition, not our fearful anxiety, should steer the ship of our lives. We trust the flow of life, remembering that everything is always perfect. We see that just the fact that something is occurring proves that it is in divine order, even if it doesn’t make sense from our limited perspective.

Eclipse season began with a new moon at the first degree of Virgo, and ends with a new moon eclipse at the final degree of Virgo. This is a South Node eclipse, meaning it is a new beginning that requires a release.

A release of a past pattern and mode of operating that just can’t come with you where the North Node in Pisces is trying to take you. Whatever has come up and been challenging you this eclipse season, it is now time to release it to the Gods of fate. Your attempts to control the outcome cannot come with us where we are going. After all, Pisces has a vision bigger than the one you can come up with on your own.

It is time to stop overthinking, and over-justifying, and over-functioning, and let go. It is time to trust your intuition, and let go of the mind’s tendency to over-explain something that your heart just knows, without reason.

Because this is a South Node eclipse in Virgo, any processes around purification, health, routines, structures, and the way you care for your body are going through an upgrade that requires a letting go. Virgo rules the digestive system, purification, and your health, so if you are going through a health journey of some kind, this is a powerful time to purify and deepen your commitment to that process. Wherever you are at with your health, taking this opportunity to stretch yourself to deepening your commitment is a positive way to work with the Virgo energy.

As you can see in the chart above, the new moon makes a kite formation, including an opposition to Neptune and Saturn, and trines to Uranus and Pluto. If you’ve been following the astrology of this year, you’ll know that Saturn and Neptune’s conjunction is an opportunity to double down on our commitments to our big dreams, allowing Saturn to bring them to tangible form, without crushing the idealism and infinite potential of Neptune. (I have a whole podcast episode on that transit that I highly recommend listening to). With the new moon in opposition to that transit, what we are releasing now is absolutely necessary to let go of in order to carve out the big visions we are here to birth.

Uranus and Pluto are both planets of big change, offering the potential of transformation if we allow them to reshape our lives in some way. Trines to these two outer planets gives the energy of letting this eclipse change our trajectory, in a big way. Outer planets bring change that might confront the ego, but is divinely ordained. The energy is supportive for life changing transitions, if we are willing to put the ego aside and follow the flow that is appearing, moment to moment.

Virgo hates surrendering to the unknown in this way, preferring to have a perfectly charted map to the road ahead. But that mindset won’t get us very far right now, and is more likely to leave us spinning our wheels, anxious and overwhelmed.

The ruler of the chart, Mercury, is transiting through Libra, bringing the element of wanting to please and harmonize to the group. However, with Mercury as the ruler of the South Node, we are more likely to make progress when we actively work to let go of people-pleasing tendencies with this new moon eclipse. Mercury in Libra might prefer not to rock the boat, keeping personal needs, boundaries or desires to yourself instead of speaking up. This eclipse wants you to release the collective shadow of pressure to conform, to fit in, to appease the group. The standard of perfection you are holding yourself to was never real anyway.

Time to be real, let go of being who everyone else wants you to be, and see where that authentic version of you takes you. We are letting go of anything that pulls you from your true centre, that distracts you from your highest path, and that has to be forced to fit.

On the other side of eclipses, as the portal between worlds closes, there will be a rearranging of reality to match the new frequency. Let the cards fall where they will. Your only job now is to LET GO, and see where it all takes you next.

What would you do if you trusted yourself, and life? Keep doing that.

Big love and eclipse blessings,

Hannah
