New Moon in Leo

This Leo new moon is a potent and powerful one to work with. Inviting and evoking a freshly reborn expression of self identity, it is time to let go of the shackles that keep us in fear of shining our most authentic light in this world.
The new moon comes in at 2 degrees of Leo, forming an exact opposition to Pluto, and a perfect trine to Saturn and Neptune. New moons are new beginnings, an opportunity to plant fresh seeds. In Leo, the new moon brings a fresh outlook to our creative self-expression, and the ways we allow ourselves to be seen in that expression.
Identity work is going through a rebirth process right now, with Mercury retrograde in the sign of Leo. Mercury retrograde carry a special weight right now, because Mercury is the South Node ruler while the South Node is in Virgo.
This particular retrograde offers an internal process around themes of self-expression, personal power, identity, brand, creative outputs and being seen. With the retrograde itself featuring significant influence from Pluto, this is a rebirth around our personal identity and self-expression. We are re-evaluating the ways we allow our needs and desires for external validation and belonging to filter our authentic light. Considering that Mercury rules the current South Node in Virgo, there may be elements of overthinking, judgement, critical attitude, and self doubt that weave into this rebirth process.
The wounds we carry around the fear of being seen and expressed in our most radiant and unique essence are being revealed and brought to the surface — so that they may be alchemized.
This new moon offers a potent moment of reclamation.
The opposition to Pluto reminds us of the power of our raw, unfiltered expression. Pluto brings the power of transformation and transmutation. Allowing us to reveal and clear the resistance, restraint, and fears that keep us from embodying our most powerful selves. Pluto also offers the potential of the underworld journey to reclaim lost aspects of self.
With Mercury retrograde in later degrees of Leo, the underworld journey will continue until Mercury stations direct August 11th. This new moon in Leo activates a deeper, personal reclamation. It is a line in the sand moment that we can work with to declare to ourselves the intentions we hold around personal power and authentic expression.
Dissolving past life and karmic roots of fear and disempowerment. It is time to take up space, allow yourself to shine, and trust the power of your most unique and radiant creative self expression. While this journey begins as an internal process of personal reclamation and declaration, when Mercury stations direct, the seeds we plant now around our expression will blossom come mid-August.
Since the new moon is also making positive aspect to the Saturn / Neptune conjunction in early Aries, we know that the power we reclaim around our personal expression will play an important role in the long term visions and dreams we are curating with the power of Saturn and Neptune.
