This full moon pulls focus to relationships, values, and money and reveals and illuminates patterns that are coming to a close around imbalance and disharmony.
Let’s dive in and explore the chart:
The Full Moon takes place in the sign of Libra, which rules balance, harmony, and giving and receiving. Libra is ruled by Venus and governs our intimate 1:1 relationships with others, how we perceive value, and our relationship to wealth and resources.
This particular Full Moon is a tender one, that is offering illumination to long standing imbalances in these realms. Full Moons in general offer us a glimpse and awareness of something, usually something that we are being asked to release. Under this Full Moon, it’s being made glaringly obvious where we are out of balance, due to the square from Jupiter.
Jupiter amplifies and exaggerates. In a square, we are feeling the tension between our values and our lived experience, between what we give and what we receive, between what is aligned vs what is asking too much of us. Jupiter in Cancer is extra emotional about the matter, so this truth could be an uncomfortable one to bear witness to. There is likely a part of you that would rather let the pattern continue unnoticed, but Jupiter in Cancer has big feelings about it, and is making you look.
In general, the square from Jupiter can have this moon feeling larger than life, and although Full Moons in air signs aren’t always super emotional, this one definitely could be.
The conversation between Aries (where the Sun is currently) and Libra (where the Moon is in this chart) is always one that navigates the polarity of self and other. Libra wants to please the crowd and smooth things over. Aries wants what it wants, and doesn’t mind upsetting anyone in the process. This Full Moon pulls focus to where we over-extend, compromise, and say yes when we really mean no. The shadows of self-abandonment under the guise of creating harmony will be sharply revealed. The things, people, and situations that you pour and pour into, with little returns, will come under scrutiny.
This is a time to evaluate the exchanges of energy, time, and resources in your life, and to cut back on what is not offering reciprocity.
Even if something is technically balanced, it might be time to reevaluate. If it doesn’t feel good for YOU, or pour into your cup in ways that genuinely excite you, it probably needs to go. Dynamics that are unsustainable in terms of their ability to support your individual growth, needs, desires, and goals will not pass the test. This Aries season has a big fire to chase visions that are deeply personal and unique to each one of us, and this Full Moon cuts away at what is not serving those visions.
The ruler of the Full Moon is Venus, who juste entered Taurus (where she is at home) but unfortunately has run smack into a square from Pluto. The Lord of the Underworld has a test for Venus in her home sign, and is asking her to undergo an initiatory journey of death and rebirth. Something around the way you show up for romantic love, the way you tend to resources, or the way you perceive your own value is undergoing a transformation. The Full Moon forces you to see it.
Think of this Full Moon as a cutting away of the final residual debris around lessons you’ve been integrating for a long time around your value, reciprocity, and resource management.
There could very well be fears and restrictions surfacing both internally and externally in your relational life and financial reality under this Full Moon. Beliefs and perspectives around money and love are undergoing a process of shedding. Energetic entanglements, old stories, and behaviours of letting things slide will be coming up for review and examination. Where does playing small, accepting less, and overcompensating leave you? Scarcity may be rearing it’s ugly head to illuminate the places you are still participating in realities and experiences that don’t feel safe, self-honouring, or regenerative.
This Full Moon may be deeply uncomfortable and confronting, but is ultimately setting us up for a fiery year of growth and expansion. Mars is moving towards his transit through Aries, which will light the fire under us to chase after the vision we have been seeding for the last several months.
This new vision is a big, bold, and powerful one. With Neptune and Saturn still in the early degrees of Aries, they have seeded the potential of a whole new dream at the critical 0 degree point of the zodiac. When Mars moves into Aries to join them, as the planet that rules our willpower, strength, and motivation to go after what we desire, we will really be feeling the energy of the Fire Horse and the powerful momentum behind our steps.
The beliefs, behaviours, and limited perspectives that we have to make sacrifices in order to create balance or take care of others, are being cleansed under this Full Moon to create space for that forward momentum to take place. Amidst the heaviness of the emotions around what we need to release, Mars is receiving a helpful sextile from Uranus, offering a new perspective on our forward movement, if we are willing to see it.
This Full Moon brings a loud awakening around where we have been compromising our personal goals, needs, and desires under the illusion of “harmony”. We can no longer tolerate dynamics and circumstances that ask a lot of our precious resources (time, energy, effort, money) without fuelling us towards the desires we were born to pursue.
