New Moon in Taurus

NEW MOON | Taurus | April 27, 2025

This new moon is full of alchemical potential.

The new moon in Taurus is ruled by Venus, who is sitting at the North Node conjunct Saturn after completing her retrograde journey through the underworld.

The new moon is also forming a grand cross with Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius (making their final opposition in this chart) and Lilith in Scorpio.

This chart is full of contradiction and challenge, but also represents a powerful potential for a new beginning, as spring blooms and we embrace this new cycle. Let’s dive into what it all means and how to work with these energies.

First, let’s address the Taurus archetype. This new moon comes in at 7 degrees of Taurus, bringing the desire for a fresh new start filled with stability, security, and sensual pleasures. Taurus wants comfort and pleasure, all things delightful to the senses, and of course the material security and stability to make it all happen.

Taurus is Venus ruled, and we may be filling the pull towards a new Venusian cycle under this new moon — however, there is transformation to face before we can reach this higher octave of Taurus.

The new moon is making a tense square to both Mars and Pluto, who are in their final opposition since November of last year. Mars opposing Pluto brings power struggles and deep karmic challenges to the surface. Pluto represents the transcendent force of death, transformation, and resurrection — but his power is beyond the realm of the human ego. Pluto also represents our deep unconscious drives and desires, the karmic cycles we are here to repeat until we alchemize them.

Mars, on the other hand, represents the individual will of the ego and the conscious impulse to pursue the unconscious desires of the soul. Mars is our drive, our action, our fighting chance.

With these two facing off, there are deep unconscious power struggles and control agendas illuminated. Mars wants to fight, yet the higher octave of this transit is to see the big picture and witness the unconscious fears, impulses, temptations and illusions that are surfacing to be transformed.

Mars and Pluto are co-rulers of Scorpio — the archetype opposite Taurus. Where Taurus seeks comfort and stability, Scorpio seeks depth and transformation of the darkest aspects of the psyche (places Taurus would rather not venture).

This grand cross in the chart is completed by Lilith in Scorpio, opposing the new moon. Lilith in Scorpio reveals the archetypes of the dark feminine: she is the original bride of Adam, who refused to submit to his whims. She represents the feminine in full sovereignty and power, awake to the illusions of control, power and misogyny in the world and unwilling to bend to these demands.

Meanwhile, Venus, the ruler of the new moon chart, sits conjunct Saturn at the North Node. After completing her extremely significant retrograde cycle, she is emerging with new desires and a new template moving forward.

Venus conjunct Saturn wants us to take a sober look at the lessons we learned during her retrograde. Our rose-coloured glasses have been removed and thrown into the flames. We are no longer able or willing to embrace the illusions we once clung to in our relationships.

Saturn wants us AWAKE to the truth, no matter how uncomfortable. And at the North Node, these lessons are unfolding in order to make space for a new destiny.

The MOST important work here is to face the false, illusory, deceptions and traps we have allowed ourselves to fall into in love and relationship. We must see the truth for what it is. We must overcome the temptation to repeat a cycle that keeps us spinning in circles.

Venus represents the feminine, in her fully conscious and light form, while Lilith represents the dark, unconscious, yet extremely powerful aspects of the feminine that have been deeply repressed and suppressed in our culture.

The feminine is going through a massive transformation cycle at this time, as women all around the world wake up to deeply unconscious and engrained systems of suppression and control (both collectively and within her own intimate life). Misogyny is alive and well, and the ugly truth is being forced to the forefront where it is impossible to ignore.

This is a pivotal moment for the collective feminine. She is rising.

She is seeing the truth: the ways she has willingly and unwillingly given her power away to the hands of men who have seduced, manipulated, and siphoned her life force. The ways she has abandoned herself for the approval of men she was taught to please and appease. The creative energy she has leaked all of her life to men, rather than watering her own deep wells of creativity.

There is a way to alchemize the energy of this challenging new moon.

Pour your creativity and life force into yourself, your creations, your communities. The North Node in Pisces represents a new dream, a fantasy reality — yet one that is rooted in truth rather than distortion. By removing the temptation to be seduced by illusion, you make space for true bliss. Not cheap thrills and false prophets. Not synthetic highs and hedonistic escapes. But true bliss.

Venus at the North Node in Pisces has the power to birth a new timeline of heaven on earth. Saturn anchors it into reality, with structure, discipline and devotion to the vision.

The grand cross reveals the places where you allow your power to be siphoned. Where you participate in ego clashes and energy leaks. Where you fight instead of transmuting. Seeing these shadows within yourself and the collective is essential. Resist the base instinct to react.

Transform the impulse into pure, creative, life force energy. Give your love and life to yourself first. Birth new worlds with your devotion to your craft, and do not allow yourself to become distracted by the temptations pulling you from the path.

Big love and new moon blessings,

Hannah
